Update on Purebred Animals

Don’t forget – all purebreds in your herd that are being held back as replacements MUST be inspected. All offspring will only be verified to inspected purebreds. To keep these as registered seedstock, please email photos or videos of ALL sides of the animal to info@akaushi.com. Once inspected, they will become registered. To check if this affects any of your animals, please go to DigitalBeef and look for prefix UAP.

Parent Verification for Terminal Dams

New for 2024, no parent verification to terminal dams will be offered. All terminal dams must be upgraded. For questions, contact the office. (361) 238-7218

Adding New Registrations to Our Herd Book

We love adding new registrations from other associations – such as American Wagyu Association or Australian Wagyu Association! To ensure a successful foreign registration into the American Akaushi Association, we must have a DNA sample from the animal.

Requirements for Submitting DNA

  • Pay DNA invoices must be paid before the office will send to the lab.

  • Be sure to keep DNA supplies on hand to ensure you are always prepared!

  • DNA will NOT be processed unless all information from the DNA Registration/Submission Form is submitted.

    • The form is provided on our website.

It is the members’ responsibility to submit all necessary information to avoid delays.

Remember, once the DNA arrives at the lab, it takes 3-4 weeks to be processed. There is NO way for this process to be rushed.
